Bi-Metal Thermometer Specifications

Bi-Metal Thermometers
Compliance: More Info - Compliance 3-A, NEMA 4X, IP67

close 3-A Tri-Clamp fittings conform to 3A 74-05 Sanitary Standards for Sensors and Sensor Fittings and Connections Used on Milk and Milk Products Equipment.

3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to advancing hygienic equipment design for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

NEMA 4 enclosures are used indoors and outdoors to house such items as electrical/ electronic controls, instrumentation systems, and pneumatic, hydraulic and machine tool controls. These enclosures are designed to provide protection against dust, dirt, oil and water. They are suitable for use in areas such as dairies, breweries and similar environments where they are subject to frequent high pressure hosing and generally wet conditions.

IP67 - IP means "Ingress Protection". IP67 enclosures are rated as "dust tight" and protected against the effects of temporary immersion in water.

Accuracy: More Info - Accuracy ± 1% of Full Span

close Accuracy is defined as the conformity of an indication to its true value. Accuracy is ± (plus or minus) a stated value across the full range. For example, a thermometer with a rnage of to -20° to 240°F and an accuracy of ±1% would mean that the thermometer can be off no more than ±2.6°F (260 x 0.01)anywhere within its range.

Over-Range Capability: More Info - Over-Range Capability 30% Over Range

The Over-Range Capability is how much over the thermometer's range that the instrument can be exposed to for a short period of time without damaging the instrument. For example, a 20°F to 240°F thermometer can be exposed to 312°F (160 x 1.3) for a short period of time (less than a minute) without causing damage to the instrument.
